Chronic bronchitis and chronic cough

Chronic bronchitis checks for slow bronchitis. Literally, it means chronic bronchitis. The current medical definition is “coughing and sputum every day for three months, for two years in a row”. This name was given mainly for the sake of uniformity in research. The specific pathology of bronchiectasis is characterized by various degrees of damage to the epithelial cells of the bronchial mucosa, loss of cilia on the bronchial surface, and eventually damage to the bronchial cilia. The main function of the cilia on the surface of the entire respiratory tract (including the bronchi) is to transport the fine particulate pollutants and secretions (sputum) that enter the respiratory tract and clean the bronchi. Some of the ciliated cells are replaced by cupped cells. In a warm and humid environment, the secretions in the airways are a good medium for the overgrowth of microorganisms such as bacteria, and the overgrown microorganisms may change the color of the sputum. So it is easy to produce inflammation. Thus, it affects the patency of the airway, etc. It may stimulate the smooth muscle around the bronchus to spasm, and bronchospasm may occur, leading to bronchial stenosis. He Chengsi, Department of Pulmonary Diseases, Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Chronic cough is a syndrome simply defined based on the duration of coughing. It is generally referred to as a chronic cough in adults who have been coughing for more than eight weeks. There are many causes of chronic cough. Studies have shown that cough variant asthma, upper airway cough syndrome, eosinophilic bronchitis, and allergic cough are the common causes of chronic cough in China. In contrast, season, gender, and age were not correlated with the etiological spectrum of chronic cough. It can be seen that there is an overlap between these two concepts. Various irritants such as irritating air, dust, and infections can cause a frequent exacerbation of the cough, an increase in sputum volume, or even a yellow coloring of the cough. This condition is called an acute attack of bronchitis. So what is the nature of the inflammation in the usual stable condition of laryngitis? No research findings have been seen and it is possible that it is immune-related.
