Ba Zhen Wan comes from the formula Ba Zhen Tang, which is composed of Si Wu Tang and Si Jun Zi Tang. Note, however, that Dang Shen is used in the drug composition of Ba Zhen Wan and Ginseng is used in the drug composition of Ba Zhen Tang and Si Jun Zi Tang. Ba Zhen Wan, composed of Radix Codonopsis, Poria, Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae (fried), Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata, Radix Paeoniae Alba, Radix Angelicae Sinensis, Rhizoma Ligustici Chuanxiong, Radix Glycyrrhizae. It is used for symptoms such as yellowish color, loss of appetite, weakness of limbs and excessive menstruation caused by deficiency of qi and blood. It is contraindicated for those who are allergic to this product and its ingredients. Four Substances Tang, composed of Radix Paeoniae Alba, Radix Angelicae Sinensis, Radix Rehmanniae Praeparatae and Rhizoma Ligustici Chuanxiong. It is used for treating deficiency of Ying and Blood (deficiency of blood in the body). Symptoms include dizziness, palpitations, insomnia, lack of color, or irregular menstruation in women with scanty or closed menstruation. Si Jun Zi Tang (四君子汤), composed of ginseng (人参), atractylodes macrocephala (白术), poria (茯苓), and licorice (甘草), roasted. It is used to treat deficiency of Qi in the spleen and stomach. Symptoms include pale complexion, low voice, shortness of breath, loose stools (scanty and unformed feces), and so on.
