Is left-sided back pain a kidney stone?

It may be a kidney stone. Patients with kidney stones may experience soreness and dull pain in the lower back. Pain episodes may last for several minutes or hours, and in severe cases, hematuria may occur. If the patient excretes stones in the urine, the diagnosis of urinary tract stones can be clarified. Some patients are accompanied by nausea, vomiting and frequent urinary urgency. But it does not mean that back pain is kidney stone. Low back pain may be lumbar spine lesion, lumbar muscle strain, peripheral soft tissue lesion, osteophytes and other diseases. It may also be urinary urethritis, or testicular inflammation, prostatitis and other diseases in men, or pelvic inflammatory disease in women.
