Talk about small intestine gas or hernia

Small bowel or hernia is the common name for inguinal hernia and is a common clinical condition with many causes, such as chronic cough and phlegm, chronic constipation, and prostate hypertrophy, among others. All these etiologies are common diseases in the elderly. Therefore, with the increasing aging in China, the incidence of hernia is gradually increasing. The main manifestation of small bowel pneumonia is a reversible mass in the inguinal region at the junction of the abdomen and the root of the thigh, which protrudes significantly when force is exerted or breath is held, and disappears after lying down. It is called small intestine gas because most of the contents of the protruding mass are small intestine. However, the protruding contents can also be found in the large intestine such as the sigmoid colon, ileocecal region, and even the bladder. The mass of small bowel gas is usually small at the beginning, but as time goes on, the mass will become larger and larger. At first, the fashion does not affect life and labor, and the mass will protrude only when the abdominal pressure increases. Repeated protrusion may cause the hernia ring to grow larger and larger, and the mass will gradually affect daily life and labor. If one day the mass protrudes and cannot be returned, which is known as medical intussusception, many serious complications may occur, such as intestinal obstruction due to intestinal canal blockage, intestinal ischemic necrosis due to reduced blood supply caused by prolonged intestinal canal compression, intestinal perforation, and if not treated in time, it may cause abdominal peritonitis, toxic shock, or even death. Therefore, except for infants and children with small intestinal gas or hernia that have the possibility of self-healing, adults with small intestinal gas or hernia need surgical treatment to relieve the symptoms. Therefore, when you have a reversible mass in the groin area (small bowel pneumonia) you must go to the hospital in time to avoid a minor illness becoming a major one and increasing your pain.
