What are the main symptoms of pancreatic cancer?

  In the early stage of pancreatic cancer, because the lesion is small and confined to the pancreas, it may not have any symptoms. As the disease progresses, the tumor gradually increases in size and involves the gallbladder, pancreatic duct and peripancreatic tissues, symptoms such as discomfort and hidden pain in the upper abdomen, jaundice, emaciation, loss of appetite, indigestion and fever may appear. Obstructive jaundice is the most prominent manifestation of pancreatic head cancer, with an incidence of over 90%. Early stage of pancreatic body and tail may not have jaundice. Jaundice is usually persistent and progressively deepening. In case of complete obstruction, the stool may be clay-colored, and the skin may be brown or bronze in color with itching. A history of biliary tract disease and long-term alcohol consumption, persistent epigastric pain and weight loss should be suspected as pancreatic disease. It should be confirmed only after combining laboratory tests and imaging examinations. After diagnosis, treatment should be prompt, and the main treatment means is surgery.
