If a flat baseline is found during fetal heart monitoring, it is important to exclude the fetus from sleep. It is recommended that the mother move, eat chocolate or other musical stimulation to induce fetal movement. Because the fetal wake-sleep cycle is 40 minutes, if the baseline fetal heart rate is still found to be very flat after 40 minutes, intrauterine hypoxia should be considered, and oxygen or other intrauterine resuscitation measures should be given and monitored several times. If the baseline rate is flat repeatedly, we should look for the cause of intrauterine hypoxia. We can do ultrasound to observe whether the placenta is decreasing, observe the umbilical cord blood flow resistance index, and observe whether the amniotic fluid volume is decreasing, which can all cause intrauterine hypoxia in the fetus.
