What to do if you don’t have a bowel movement without medication

No bowel movement without medication, may be functional constipation, or colitis, colon tumors and other diseases, should be combined with the causative factors to take general treatment, drug treatment or surgical treatment.
1. Functional constipation: If it is only simple stubborn constipation, and the symptom is obviously aggravated after stopping the medicine, we should do some improvement in diet, and try to eat soft, light and easy to digest; we can do appropriate activities after eating, in order to accelerate the intestinal peristalsis, and relieve the gastrointestinal flatulence.
2. Colitis: For stubborn constipation caused by colitis, when combined with intestinal obstruction, constipation may be aggravated after stopping the medication, if the effect of long-term medication is unsatisfactory, surgery can be considered to lift the intestinal obstruction.
3. Colon tumor: when there is a tumor in the intestines, it will affect the normal passage of stool after narrowing the intestines, and the symptom will be aggravated after stopping the medicine. If it is benign tumor, it needs to be surgically resected as soon as possible and pathological biopsy should be carried out; while for malignant tumor, radical surgery should be done in time in early stage, and if the condition develops to middle or late stage, radiotherapy or chemotherapy should be combined to inhibit the cancer cells.
If you can’t have normal bowel movement without medication, if it is caused by the above factors, you need to target treatment, and the specific medication should follow the doctor’s prescription.
