Basic knowledge about kidney cancer

  Among male genital tumors in China, the incidence of kidney cancer ranks second after bladder cancer. Due to the rapid development of imaging science and the improvement of people’s living standard and health awareness in recent years, more and more occult kidney cancers are detected, so the incidence of kidney cancer is increasing year by year. History taking: 1. intermittent painless hematuria; 2. lumbago; 3. varicocele; 4. extra-renal symptoms of kidney cancer, such as fever, anemia, hepatitis, leukemia, neuromuscular symptoms, true erythrocytosis, gastrointestinal symptoms, sexual dysfunction, elevated blood calcium, etc. The above symptoms appear in some kidney cancer patients; 5. Metastatic foci symptoms: such as pain and pathological fracture in corresponding parts when kidney cancer metastasizes to bones, hemoptysis and chest pain when metastasizing to lungs, etc.  6. Substantial occupying lesions in the kidney are accidentally found during the physical examination such as ultrasound or CT imaging.  Physical examination 1. lumbar mass; 2. varicocele: when there is cancerous thrombosis in the renal vein, the varicocele on the affected side will not disappear even when lying down.  Auxiliary examinations 1.B ultrasound: substantial occupying lesion in the kidney; 2.CT: substantial occupying lesion in the kidney; 3.X-ray: urogram shows enlarged kidney shadow and may show ring calcium sign. Intravenous urography: renal pelvis and calyces are deformed by compression, filling defects, etc.; 4, MRI: renal occupying lesions; 5, renal arteriogram or digital subtraction angiogram: increased local blood vessels in the kidney, disturbed vascular texture, blood pool formation, etc.
