A mass in the suprasternal fossa may be a chest wall tumor, thyroid disease, etc., and can be seen in the Department of Thoracic Surgery, Department of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, or Department of General Surgery. Chest wall tumors can be divided into two categories: primary and metastatic, while primary chest wall tumors can be divided into benign and malignant. Common benign tumors include osteofibroma, osteoma, chondroma, soft tissue lipoma, etc., while most common malignant tumors are various sarcomas. Metastatic chest wall tumors are metastasized from other sites and can be seen in the thoracic surgery department. For thyroid disorders such as goiter and thyroglossal cysts, patients can visit ENT head and neck surgery or general surgery. Diagnosis is mainly based on the history, symptoms and the nature of the mass, improve the relevant examination such as chest CT, superficial organ ultrasound, etc. for diagnosis, and puncture biopsy if necessary. It is recommended that patients with lumps in the suprasternal fossa should seek prompt medical attention.
