How to treat a contusion of the wrist

After a contusion of the wrist, there may be only a general soft tissue injury. For more serious contusions, a fracture or dislocation may accompany the contusion. First of all, we should improve the local X-ray examination to initially determine whether there is a fracture or dislocation, and if necessary, CT and 3D reconstruction are needed to make a more accurate judgment. For general soft tissue contusions, physiotherapy is the mainstay. For contusions within 24 hours, ice can be applied to reduce swelling and pain; for contusions after 24 hours, hot compresses or hot water can be applied. In addition, localized areas can be sprayed with blood-activating drugs, such as Yunnan Baiyao aerosol. Temporary rest is needed to avoid exertion in the local area to help relieve pain and reduce swelling. If the local pain is more pronounced, you can take oral painkillers, such as meloxicam tablets, to relieve the pain.
