Does the fetus move in spurts?

Fetal movement is different for each person, sometimes it is a throbbing movement. Fetal movements do not occur until after the fourth month of pregnancy and are not noticeable in the early stages, sometimes resembling the sensation of intestinal peristalsis, and in some people even later. The duration and frequency of fetal movements increase with the number of months, i.e. they change as the baby develops. A throbbing fetal movement in late pregnancy may be fetal eructation (hiccups), i.e., the fetus is exercising its respiratory function and is adapting to the external environment after birth. This kind of throbbing fetal movement is a fixed-positioned, relatively small amplitude, and fast-paced activity. It is worth noting that the sudden jumping of the abdomen may not be caused by fetal movement, but may also be caused by the pulsation of the abdominal blood vessels.
