In terms of activities, patients should be encouraged to turn over in bed after six hours, lift their legs and hips, get out of bed as much as possible on the first day after surgery, and gradually increase the amount of activities later to promote gastrointestinal peristalsis and prevent decubitus ulcers and venous thrombosis.
