How to treat dental stumping

When a tooth has suffered a large loss of tissue and there is no way to proceed directly to a porcelain restoration, you can consider staking the tooth in the root canal, and after staking, the crown side of the tooth can then be restored. Staking mainly involves the application of special instruments to remove part of the cementum tip from the root canal of the tooth to a certain depth, after which the resin core of the tooth is fabricated or a model is taken by applying a mold-taking material. After that, it is sent to the laboratory to make the stump, and after the stump is made, it is bonded inside the root canal with an adhesive. Usually, 1-2 visits are required, and after bonding, full ceramic teeth are fabricated for restoration. At present, this method of restoration is widely used in the clinic, and the materials used are different, including metal materials, all-ceramic materials, and fiber materials, each with its own indications.
