Blepharoplasty symptoms

The most common symptoms of a blocked lid gland are dry eyes and astringent eyes. The lid glands secrete oil and fluid to protect the eyes. When the lid glands are blocked, they cannot function properly, so the eyes become dry and uncomfortable, and may also lead to mydriasis and chalazion. A chalazion is a blockage in which bacteria enter the eye and the lid gland becomes acutely infected, resulting in redness, swelling, and pain. When chronic inflammation leads to blockage it is easier to form a chalazion, which is a painless bag in the eye. At this time, if eye drops can eliminate it, surgical treatment is not needed. However, if the eye drops still do not improve, the patient may need to have it surgically removed.
