Is it appropriate to climb a mountain for exercise when you’re older?

Functional exercises will not only give the bone a stimulus to become slower and looser, or even stronger, but will also make you more agile and prevent falls. This is especially important because fractures caused by falls in the elderly would be very dangerous. However, climbing is not a good exercise. As you get older, your knee joints become weaker and climbing can put a lot of strain on them. In the picture below, the pressure between the patella and femur is very high when flexing the knee, and older people’s knees are even less able to withstand this pressure, especially if there is osteoporosis. Climbing will not do much to improve your fitness, but will instead cause more severe knee pain and accelerate the aging of the knee joint. Some soothing strength training is recommended, such as tai chi. Tai chi can increase the strength of older people’s muscles, increase their balance and prevent falls, and the effect is determined. You may choose to join a tai chi exercise group.
