Cataract surgery currently consists of non-ultrasonic cataract surgery with a small incision and cataract surgery with ultrasound emulsification. There are two parts to cataract surgery: removal of the cloudy lens and implantation of an IOL. In terms of how the lens is removed, one is to take out the clouded lens in its entirety directly, which is a non-ultrasound-emulsification small-incision procedure. The other is to emulsify the lens with an ultrasound emulsification device, and then remove the cloudy lens through a small incision and implant an IOL. So currently there are these two types of surgery, and ultrasonic cataract surgery is the mainstream surgery at present. There are two main types of cataract surgery: non-ultrasonic cataract surgery with a small incision and ultrasonic cataract surgery. Ultrasonic cataract surgery is currently the mainstream cataract surgery procedure, which involves making a 2-3mm incision and then accessing an ultrasonic emulsification needle. This material is then aspirated and an IOL is implanted to replace the normal lens. Ultrasonic emulsification is the mainstream surgical procedure that is preferred by patients and doctors for its small incision, minimal damage to the eye, and quick recovery of vision after surgery.
