Prevention of leukemia starts with the little things in life

In recent years, reports of leukemia have appeared in the press frequently and have attracted the attention of readers. The rapid development of leukemia, the difficulty of treatment, and the high mortality rate have made people feel “white”.

According to epidemiological statistics, the natural incidence of leukemia in China is 3/100,000-4/100,000, and the trend is growing. The country currently has 4 million leukemia patients, about 40,000 new leukemia patients each year, of which more than 20,000 are children, and the majority of children aged 2-9 years, the proportion of urban leukemia children accounted for 1/3, leading to an increase in urban leukemia children, the culprit does not exclude the pollution caused by home renovation. Because the common adhesive, paint, floor tiles, plywood and other materials used in renovation will release formaldehyde, lead, benzene and other toxic substances, causing damage to the human blood system, people with weak resistance to leukemia. The relevant departments have measured the renovated homes, the results of pollution concentration is 10-15 times higher than outdoor. Environmental pollution caused by renovation fever may be one of the reasons for the increase in urban leukemia children.

First, simple renovation is recommended. It is best to use materials that meet environmental requirements and are harmless to humans before moving in. It is best to open the windows and ventilate for more than a week before moving in and ask the indoor environment monitoring department to monitor the situation and then move in after passing the test.

Second, pay attention to dietary hygiene. Because vegetables and fruits containing chemical fertilizers, pesticides and other food, after consumption through digestion and absorption into the blood, easy to destroy the normal hematopoietic function of the bone marrow, and thus the onset of disease. Therefore, vegetables and fruits should be cleaned before consumption to reduce the residues of fertilizers and pesticides to a minimum.

Third, do not abuse drugs. Use chloramphenicol, cytotoxic anticancer drugs, immunosuppressants and other drugs with caution, must have a doctor’s guidance, do not long-term use or abuse.

Fourth, minimize the use of hair dyes or do not use them. American researchers found that women who use hair dyes (especially in large quantities) have 3.8 times the risk of developing leukemia than the average person. Hairdressers, beauticians and plastic surgeons who are often exposed to hair dyes are also potentially harmful.

Fifth, avoid radiation. A recent study found that children who sleep with lights on or whose natural sleep patterns are disturbed by artificial light are more likely than usual to develop cancer. Recently, researchers at the Childhood Leukemia Conference in London suggested that there is a link between the increased incidence of childhood leukemia and exposure to light at night. Therefore, as soon as they go to bed, people should turn off the lights until they wake up the next morning. Care should also be taken to stay away from high voltage lines, substations and microwave ovens that are in use.

Sixth, is more exercise, traditional Chinese medicine, “the positive energy within, the evil can not dry”, meaning that the human body positive energy (i.e. immunity) is sufficient, the disease is not easy to invade the body. And the most effective way to enhance the positive energy is to exercise more.
