Polypoid lesion of gallbladder is a general term for all non-lithotropic lesions in which the wall of gallbladder grows into the lumen in the form of polyps. In China, with the widespread use of ultrasound technology, the detection rate of polypoid lesions of gallbladder is increasing, and their clinical and pathological characteristics and the timing of surgery have been widely studied. Most gallbladder polyps have symptoms similar to chronic cholecystitis, mainly manifesting as mild discomfort in the right upper abdomen and biliary colic in the presence of stones, but a significant number of patients are asymptomatic and are only detected when doing a health checkup. It is generally believed that gallbladder polyp is a predisposing factor for gallbladder cancer. In recent years, there are many reports about gallbladder polyp carcinogenesis at home and abroad, especially when accompanied with stones, the chance of carcinogenesis will be significantly increased. Gallbladder polyps have the following characteristics: (1) With the diversification of human diet structure and diet rhythm and environmental pollution, the incidence of gallbladder polyps is gradually increasing, such as: high cholesterol diet, long-term alcohol abuse, excessive intake of stimulating diet, disorders of dietary patterns, such as: not eating good breakfast or not eating breakfast, too much dinner, and other bad eating habits, … …etc. are all related to gallbladder cancer. …and so on are directly and indirectly related to the formation of gallbladder polyps, thus breeding the first characteristic of gallbladder polyps, that is, the incidence is gradually increasing. (2) hidden aggressiveness: gallbladder polyps are mostly asymptomatic, more than 85% of patients are found in routine physical examinations, and it is difficult to find polyps below 3-4mm in CT and MRI; asymptomatic gallbladder polyps give people the illusion of no pain, no disease, no need for treatment, but when the symptoms are concurrent or the nature of the change, often to cause unexpected pain and irreparable damage; in addition In addition, doctors in non-specialized hospitals are not aware of this disease, or do not know, or do not pay attention to it, thus creating a blind spot in the diagnosis and perception of gallbladder polyps and the vacuum of diagnosis and treatment, forming a wide hidden space for gallbladder polyps. (3) High cancer rate: The lethal power of gallbladder polyps lies in the sudden cancerous changes. Due to the different nature of the formed gallbladder polyps, the cancer rate gradually increases. And during or after the cancerous transformation, many patients with gallbladder polyps do not feel discomfort, and the polyps develop and become cancerous unknowingly. At present, the main means of diagnosing gallbladder polyps is ultrasonography, and the detection rate of <5mm can reach more than 90%, with high sensitivity and accuracy of diagnosis. However, ultrasound examination has some limitations and false negative rate for the diagnosis, characterization and differential diagnosis of this disease. For example, when the lesion is small and located in the neck of gallbladder or accompanied by gallbladder stones, it is easy to miss the diagnosis, and it is also difficult to qualify and differentiate. Surgery is the cure for gallbladder polyps, but not all gallbladder polyps require surgical treatment. Because of the different types of lesions, sizes and disease regressions, the indications for surgery are not consistent. (4) Doppler ultrasound examination of lesions with abundant blood supply suggesting malignant neoplasm; (5) Significantly elevated tumor marker measurements and excluding other gastrointestinal tumors; (6) Gallbladder polyp-like lesions with obvious symptoms and recurring recurrence; (7) Asymptomatic patients with diameters less than 5 mm should be followed up at intervals of 3 to 5 months. Once the lesion is enlarged or symptomatic, surgery should be performed. The prevention of gallbladder polyps is similar to the prevention of gallstones, i.e. regular diet, good breakfast, low cholesterol diet, and vegetables and fruits.
