The assessment of children’s height and bone age depends mainly on the difference between the two, through which it can be judged whether the child’s development is normal or not. In general, the height of a newborn baby is about 50 cm to 60 cm, and the height of a 1-year-old baby is about 75 cm to 85 cm, i.e., the height of a child in the first year of life can increase by an average of about 25 cm, and after the age of 2 years, the height of a child will increase by about 5 cm to 7 cm every year. If there is a difference of more than 2 years between the bone age and the age of the living child, it is considered abnormal; a difference of 1 year to 2 years is considered retarded; and a difference of less than a year is considered normal development. Therefore, when parents find that children’s height is abnormal, it is recommended that they go to the hospital in time for x-ray examination of the wrist joint.
