Rigid kyphosis is a common spinal deformity in clinical practice, and if not treated in time, it often causes serious neurological damage, low back pain, inability to see flat, and secondary lumbar hyperlordosis and other series of changes, which brings a great burden on the patient’s life and psychology. Due to the rigidity of the spine, scoliosis with rigid lordosis can only rely on instruments such as pedicle screws, which have limited orthopedic ability. At the same time, the rigidity of the spine leads to the concentration of stress on the pedicle screws, which may lead to the loosening of the screws and the formation of pseudojoints if over-orthopedic surgery is performed, resulting in orthopedic failure. The commonly used orthopedic method for kyphosis is closed wedge osteotomy via posterior approach. Pictures of this kind of surgery in our Orthopaedic Center
