How to treat low-grade uroepithelial carcinoma

Low-grade uroepithelial carcinoma is a type of malignancy, which means that the qualitative nature of the disease is cancer. However, its differentiation degree is relatively good, so its grade is relatively low. Treatment firstly, the site of the tumor should be clarified, if the tumor appears in the renal pelvis, it is called pelvic cancer; if it appears in the ureter, it is called ureteral cancer; if it appears in the bladder, it is called bladder cancer; the treatment methods are different. 1. For low-grade uroepithelial carcinoma of the renal pelvis, unilateral partial resection of the kidney, ureter and bladder is required, and after resection, chemotherapy drugs are regularly instilled into the bladder to prevent bladder recurrence. 2, In the case of low-grade malignant uroepithelial carcinoma of the ureter, treatment requires resection of the ipsilateral kidney, ureter and part of the bladder. Postoperative bladder infusion chemotherapy drugs are also needed to prevent bladder recurrence.3. In case of low-grade uroepithelial carcinoma on the bladder, transurethral cystoscopic plasmapheresis is routinely needed to remove the tumor according to the size and depth of invasion, and postoperative bladder infusion chemotherapy is performed. In this case, removal of the kidney and ureter is not necessary. However, in the case of extensive multiple low-grade uroepithelial carcinomas in the bladder, with low-grade uroepithelial carcinomas of the bladder distributed in the bladder triangle and neck opening, total cystectomy is recommended. However, the depth of invasion and prognosis, the patient’s age and physical condition need to be carefully considered during surgery. Postoperatively, the need for intravenous chemotherapy treatment is decided based on the results of the pathological examination. Uroepithelial carcinoma is usually not treated with general systemic radiotherapy and systemic chemotherapy, but with local infusion chemotherapy.
