To study the effects of Astragalus membranaceus and Chi Feng Tang on proteinuria and renal tissue COX-1 and COX-2 in rats with adriamycin nephropathy. The rat model of adriamycin nephropathy was made by tail vein injection of adriamycin, and the 24h urine protein quantification was measured at the end of the 6th week of the experiment; the kidney tissue specimens were collected, and the protein expression of cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) were detected by western blot method and analyzed by gray scale. 1. Compared with the model group, the 24-hour urinary protein quantification was decreased in both the spiked Astragalus chinensis soup group and the prednisone group (P<0.01< span="">); the 24-hour urinary protein quantification was at comparable levels in the spiked Astragalus chinensis soup group and the prednisone group (P>0.05); 2. Compared with the model group, the COX-1 grayscale value of the kidney tissue was significantly increased in the prednisone group (P<0.01)< span ="">, and the COX-1 grayscale value was relatively higher in the group with flavored Huangqi Chi Feng Tang (p>0.05), which showed wide bands, high density and darker color, while the COX-2 of kidney tissue was significantly lower in both groups (p<0.01)< span="">, which showed narrow bands, low density and light color; the COX-2 grayscale level in the group with flavored Huangqi Chi Feng Tang was significantly lower than that in the prednisone group (p< 0.05< span="">); 3. COX-1 and COX-2 had a negative correlation. The addition of Astragalus Chifeng Tang can significantly reduce proteinuria in rats with adriamycin nephropathy, which has a positive effect on repairing renal tissue damage, improving normal physiological function of renal tissue, reducing inflammatory response and improving interstitial fibrosis, thus delaying the progression of glomerulosclerosis.
