How to choose the right food for children with kidney disease

I wrote some articles about the physical identification and diet of children with kidney disease some time ago, some parents responded that the above content is too professional and complicated to understand, so I have selected these contents. I. Foods to avoid throughout the kidney disease When a child is sick, Chinese medicine believes that the following foods should be avoided as much as possible, even if the child has eaten them before. These foods are mostly hot, “hairy” or allergenic. During the recovery period, if the doctor allows, these foods can be gradually increased, including: 1, spices: seaweed, pepper, white wine, curd, onion, garlic, leek 2, fish meat: rooster, chicken head, chicken wings, chicken claws, sow, pig head meat, pig feet, goose meat, mutton, dog meat, donkey meat, all kinds of wild game, all kinds of sick and dead animal meat, shrimp, crab, squid, sea eel, squid, scallop, yellowtail, pomfret, mussel Meat, carp, etc. If you want to eat chicken, chicken breast should be the main meat. 3, vegetables: mushrooms, coriander, toon, bamboo shoots, mustard, pumpkin, spinach, potherb mustard, eggplant 4, fruits and vegetables: peaches, apricots 2, according to the different stages of kidney disease, the food should be avoided 1, a large number of hormone treatment period: the child is a yin deficiency, temper, sweating, difficult to sleep at night, etc., hyper-appetite. Hot foods should be avoided during this period, such as fried foods, spicy foods, lychees, durian, longan, oranges, and less cookies. 2. Hormone reduction to small dose: The child has a deficient qi and yin constitution, pale face, sweating, easy to catch a cold, poor appetite, etc.. During this period, hot food and cold food should be avoided. Hot food is as above, and cold food includes: various frozen unheated foods watermelon, winter melon, eggplant, empty cabbage, kelp, tempeh, green tea, kiwi, banana, rhizome, etc. Third, on the issue of salt and protein: 1, should adhere to the entire low-salt diet. Chinese medicine believes that “salt hurts the kidneys”, modern research shows that salt intake is related to the elimination of urine protein, high sodium intake makes many drugs to reduce urine protein less effective. Animal experiments have shown that high salt intake leads to a decrease in the negative glomerular charge in rats and an increase in urinary protein. Foods with high salt content include salted bread, hanging noodles, ham, shrimp, salted meat, sausage, aromatic tripe, puffed eggs, pickled snowdrops, salted vegetables, dried pickled radish, squash, tofu milk, noodle sauce, and soy sauce. I found that some parents are very afraid to give salt, which is not right, after all, the child is growing, too little salt, affecting the deliciousness of the food, it must be stressed here, advocating a low-salt diet, in fact, is just slightly lower than their usual customary taste. 2, moderate protein intake: some parents feel that their children lose urine protein, they should give him more meat, in fact, this view is wrong, a large amount of protein intake, will make the urine protein elimination increase, increasing the burden on the kidneys, so that the risk of glomerulosclerosis increased. There are studies that show that animal protein is better than vegetable protein, and long-term intake of vegetable protein will significantly reduce the elimination of urinary protein and slow down the deterioration of kidney function. However, when children are growing up, they need more essential amino acids, so animal protein should be the mainstay, with appropriate plant protein. The recommended daily protein intake for children with kidney disease is 1.2-1.5 g/kg. High protein diet includes milk, soy milk powder, cereal, black sesame paste, eggs, goose eggs, quail eggs, mutton, snake meat, etc. 3. Do not consume too much fat, because hyperlipidemia is one of the risk factors for the deterioration of kidney disease. High-fat foods include fatty meat, meat skin, chicken skin, duck skin, etc. In addition, animal offal is also high in fat, such as heart, liver, spleen, lung, kidney, large intestine, small intestine, belly, etc.
