Return to normal in a few days after colonoscopy

After colonoscopy, the patient will generally return to normal after a week or so, and the exact length of recovery is related to the patient’s physical condition, care measures and other factors. Colonoscopy is an invasive examination of the tissues of the rectum, colon and anus of the patient using endoscopic examination. It allows pathological observation of diseased tissues, such as ulcers and polyps, and a clear diagnosis of the patient’s disease type, pathological stage, and other disease information by means of biopsy sampling and testing. During the process of intestinal examination, the intestinal tissues of the subject will be affected by catheter friction, laxative stimulation, tissue damage and other factors, so some patients will have adverse symptomatic reactions such as abdominal pain, diarrhea and bloody stools. However, these adverse reactions will generally subside within 2-3 days after the examination and recover completely in about 7 days. It should be noted that for the first 2 days after colonoscopy, patients can try to choose more liquid and easily digestible food to reduce the stimulation of gastrointestinal tissues, relieve the adverse symptoms and accelerate the normal recovery of the body, such as millet porridge, rice soup, rotten noodles, etc.
