If a small amount of brownish leucorrhoea is mostly normal, it may be caused by fluctuations in estrogen and progesterone after pregnancy. However, it may also be caused by pre-eclampsia, ectopic pregnancy, organic lesions of the cervix or uterine cavity. If the leucorrhoea is small, it can be observed and usually disappears after a few days; if it is large and there is also abdominal pain and other symptoms it is recommended to seek medical attention.
