Children with heavy, yellow, sticky eye droppings.

Children’s thick, yellow and sticky eye droppings may be caused by low water intake, conjunctivitis or chronic dacryocystitis, which can be treated by dietary modification, medication or surgery. 1. Adjusting diet: Dry weather and too little water intake or poor indoor air circulation may cause children to have thick, yellow and sticky eye droppings. It is recommended to wipe children’s eyes with a clean, wet towel to clean the droppings, and drink more water and consume fruits and vegetables with more water in moderation. 2. Medication: Conjunctivitis or keratitis caused by bacterial infection can be treated by anti-infection to determine the causative organisms, and can be treated with levofloxacin eye drops and tobramycin eye drops under the guidance of a doctor. 3. Surgical treatment: chronic dacryocystitis causes acute suppurative infections, and antibiotics are needed in the early stage. If the inflammation cannot be relieved after conservative treatment, surgery can be considered. If children’s symptoms are more serious, it is recommended to go to the hospital for ophthalmologic examination, and under the guidance of the doctor for appropriate treatment.
