Recently, we have encountered patients with facial palsy in our clinic who have some questions about the treatment of facial palsy. Now we would like to briefly introduce our clinical experience. First, what should I do if I have facial palsy? How do I look at it? If you get up in the morning and find that the corners of your mouth are crooked, you need to be diagnosed by neurology first to confirm whether it is simple peripheral facial palsy or central facial palsy, there is a big difference between the two. However, as the standard of living and the pressure of life and work increase, many young people also have some “old age diseases”, and cerebrovascular disease is one of the most prevalent ones, so the examination is also necessary. Of course, after the diagnosis, western doctors will give some drugs, such as hormones, vitamin B, nerve-nourishing drugs, etc. Second, when to choose acupuncture? Can I choose acupuncture? Because the dialectic system of Chinese and Western medicine is different and the treatment ideas are different, I don’t know much about other medical treatment options, so I won’t make too much evaluation. If you choose Chinese medicine or acupuncture, it is recommended to treat it at an early stage. However, there are several points that need to be noted. First, TCM generally classifies facial palsy as a meridian category in stroke. From the surface to the interior, it mostly belongs to superficial symptoms, and according to the circulation of meridians, it is biased to the Sun, Yangming and Shaoyang meridians. According to the circulation of the meridians, it belongs to the Sun, Yangming and Shaoyang meridians. From the category of Wei, Qi, Ying and Blood, it mostly belongs to the Wei and Qi meridians, therefore, in the early stage, it mostly focuses on relieving the surface, paying attention to more rest, drinking more water and eating lightly. Secondly, in the choice of acupuncture treatment, early treatment is possible. In the acute stage of facial palsy (within one week of facial palsy discovery), local acupuncture points on the face are mainly shallow pricks, while acupuncture points on the hands or feet can be deep pricks, with local acupuncture points playing a role of relieving the surface and dispersing the wind, and peripheral acupuncture points playing a role of traction. At the same time, cupping or bloodletting can be used to enhance the effect of relieving the surface and dispersing the wind by sweating. In the recovery period, deep stabbing of the face can be done, and at the same time, according to the patient’s different conditions, Fu Zheng or Blood activation can be chosen. And for some patients with early facial muscle twitching, it needs to be handled carefully to avoid the sequelae of facial muscle spasm. Finally, for geriatric facial palsy, attention should be paid to the combination of expelling evil and supporting righteousness, while some combined with other chronic diseases need to pay attention to the need to control the progress of other diseases and pay attention to the indications and contraindications of acupuncture. However, there are some facial palsy that can be left with sequelae. Therefore, it is very important to choose the timing of treatment for facial palsy, as well as the diet and recuperation adjustment. Thirdly, can other methods be tried? Many people often come across people who say that there is a person there, or a doctor how to cure, how to cure, and so on, and there are some partial prescriptions, strange methods. The method used by the hospital is the summary of the most extensive clinical practice experience, the crystallization of the collective wisdom of many doctors, and is a treatment method that has been repeatedly proven and effective. For overly radical treatment options, please choose carefully.
