Eriksonian hypnotherapy for mental disorders

      1. Each person is unique. So therapeutic communication should neither be based on theoretical generalizations.      2. The hypnotist an experiential process of communicating ideas. The task of the Eriksonian hypnotist is to identify and use these interesting ideas as a basis for the development of hypnosis.      3. Everyone has regenerative resources.      4. The hypnotic state stimulates the use of resources. One of the main benefits of being in the hypnotic state is the possibility of removing the rigid settings of the individual, reconstructing and reorganizing the ego system.      5. The hypnotic state arises naturally.      6. Eriksonian hypnosis theory allows the visitor to engage in process alliance rather than error correction.      7. The uniqueness of the person can be appreciated on multiple levels.      8. The operation of unconscious processes is regenerative and autonomous. The conscious mind is intelligent, but the unconscious mind is wiser.     I appreciate the statement that the conscious mind is smart, but the unconscious mind is wiser. The therapist’s dance with the visitor in hypnosis presupposes that the therapist follows the visitor. The hypnotist’s task is to identify and use interesting ideas, to use the interesting ideas as the basis for the development of hypnosis, and thus to induce them step by step, following the visitor gradually into the hypnotic state.
