Mild mental retardation, also known as mild mental retardation, refers to a group of syndromes of incomplete or impaired mental development characterized by mental retardation and difficulties in social adjustment, which begin before maturity (before the age of 18). The IQ is between 50 and 69, and the mental age is about 9 to 12 years old; the performance in school is poor (often failing or repeating grades) or the ability to work is poor (only able to perform simpler manual labor); however, life can be taken care of; there is no obvious speech disorder, and there are varying degrees of delays in the ability to understand and use language. In general, mild mental retardation does not require treatment, and only when accompanied by other mental disorders or physical illnesses do they need to be treated with relevant medications.
