TCT is normal and HPV positivity is divided into two types. If HPV 16 or 18 is positive, referral for colposcopy is recommended, and depending on the results of colposcopy, a decision is made whether to perform cervical pathology. If the TCT is normal and the other 12 types of HPV are positive, it is recommended to observe for six months or a year before rechecking. During this period, most of the HPV can be turned negative by strengthening the body resistance and exercising properly. Cervical cancer is a preventable and treatable disease and its onset is stage-specific, so cervical cancer screening is especially important. For women who are sexually active, regular cervical cancer screening is recommended for early detection of cervical lesions, which can largely reduce the incidence and mortality rate of cervical cancer. For women younger than 30 years old, TCT is recommended once every 3 years. For women older than 30 years old, dual screening with TCT and HPV is recommended. If the first dual screening result is negative, the test can be repeated after an interval of 3-5 years.
