Pelvic fluid may be physiologic and usually does not need treatment, or it may be caused by pelvic inflammatory disease, ectopic pregnancy, endometriosis and other factors, which can be treated symptomatically with medication, surgery, expectant therapy and so on.
1. Pelvic inflammatory disease: the disease is caused by multiple microbial infections, which can cause increased pelvic fluid. Patients need to pay attention to rest and use drugs such as cefoxitin, metronidazole and azithromycin under the guidance of doctors. If the abscess caused by inflammation is ineffective by medication or persists or rupture occurs, surgery can be carried out according to the condition, such as incision and drainage of abscess, conservative surgery, total hysterectomy and double adnexectomy.
2. Ectopic pregnancy: also known as ectopic pregnancy, can also cause pelvic effusion. If the patient meets the conditions of no drug contraindication, unruptured tubal pregnancy, no obvious internal bleeding, and the diameter of the gestational sac is less than 4cm, the patient can be treated conservatively with methotrexate under the guidance of the doctor. Those with severe symptoms need to undergo surgery, including conservative and radical surgery.
If the condition is stable and the HCG level is low and decreasing, expectant therapy is feasible, i.e., the patient is first monitored for a long time without any treatment, and then treated when the condition worsens.
3. Endometriosis: patients can use drugs such as ibuprofen and medroxyprogesterone as prescribed by the doctor. If the effect of medication is not good, the lesion is aggravated, the fertility function has not been restored or the maximum diameter of the cyst is larger than 4cm, surgery can be performed, such as fertility preservation surgery, ovary function preservation surgery, radical surgery, and so on.
Besides, luteal rupture, pelvic tuberculosis and so on can also cause pelvic effusion, and patients should seek medical treatment in time for symptomatic treatment.
