How to treat functional constipation in children?

Although functional constipation is not a life-threatening disease, it can affect the quality of life of children over time and may even have adverse consequences on growth and development. In infants and young children, a delay in defecation for more than 3 days may cause pain during dry stools and lead to anal fissures and anal spasms, eventually causing the conditioned reflex of not daring to defecate, therefore, active intervention and medication are necessary.
