After minimally invasive surgery for lung nodules, the time needed for hospitalization is related to the nature of the nodule, the patient’s degree of recovery, the individual’s physical condition, etc., and usually takes 3~7 days. If the lung nodule is benign, after minimally invasive surgery for local resection, there is no air leakage and the amount of bleeding from the chest is low, and the patient can be extubated and discharged from the hospital in 2~3 days after the surgery. If the nodule is malignant, in addition to local resection, lymph node dissection may also be required, and the discharge time may be relatively longer, about 3~5 days can also be discharged. If the patient has an underlying disease and is older, the recovery time after surgery is relatively longer. If complications such as air leakage, bleeding, or celiac disease occur after minimally invasive surgery, patients are not recommended to be discharged from the hospital until their symptoms are effectively controlled, and the hospitalization time is usually extended to 1 week after surgery.
