What the new coronavirus looks like

The novel coronavirus appears under high magnification microscopy as a sphere with many granular bumps on its surface, resembling a crown in shape, hence the name. The raised particles on the surface of the sphere connect the host to the virus itself, drawing energy for the virus to replicate. The novel coronaviruses are relatively larger than other more common viruses and have more genes that are prone to mutation, which makes the development of a vaccine very difficult.
