How to tell if it is a new coronavirus

Currently, the main basis for clinical diagnosis of novel coronavirus infection around the world is the results of pathogenic testing. To determine whether one is infected with the virus, one needs to know the following points: First, whether one has a history of close contact with a person infected or suspected of being infected with novel coronavirus, or has worked, studied, or lived in an infected area or other endemic area.

Second, whether there are clinical symptoms such as fever, malaise and dry cough within 14 days after exposure, especially fever is the most critical.

Third, if the above two items are met, please promptly visit the fever clinics of designated hospitals in each area and first have a CT (or X-ray) of the lungs as well as blood tests. If the results are consistent with the manifestation of viral pneumonia, a pathogenic test will be arranged and a positive result will confirm the diagnosis.
