Patients and their families are always anxious when they have prostate cancer. After the related treatment, they are even more exceptionally worried about their future life and living, especially about their daily diet, which almost invariably needs to be guided by their doctors. So how to reduce the risk factors on the tip of the tongue? 1.Reduce the intake of androgen manufacturing substances, some studies have shown that high fat diet can stimulate the growth of prostate cancer cells; especially beef, lamb and high fat content food are the triggering factors of prostate cancer. 2. Increase the amount of low-fat diet, fruits and vegetables will reduce the occurrence of prostate cancer. This “healthy” food includes soy products (tofu and soy milk), tomatoes, green tea, red grapes, strawberries, cranberries, blueberries, peas, watermelon, citrus, etc. Soy products contain phytoestrogens, somewhat similar to estrogen in women. Phytoestrogens contained in a proper diet can reduce the risk of prostate cancer in a way that additional phytoestrogens do not. Green tea contains antioxidants that block cell changes and reduce cell damage, possibly reducing its risk of cancer. Lycopene (a carotenoid) may also reduce the risk of prostate cancer. Lycopene is high in tomatoes and can only be effective when cooked (e.g. tomato sauce, not tomato juice). 3. Increase the intake of vitamin E properly. Vitamin E is a free radical scavenger that may reduce the risk of prostate cancer. However, when suffering from bleeding disorders or are taking blood thinners, if you need to take vitamin E, you need to consult with the relevant medical professionals.
