Advanced Stomach Cancer Symptoms

Symptoms of advanced gastric cancer can manifest as persistent upper abdominal pain with vomiting, black stools, anemia, abdominal masses, weight loss, and other clinical symptoms.

Patients with advanced gastric cancer have prominent clinical symptoms because the stomach tumor has grown significantly and there is a possibility of distant metastasis, lymph node metastasis. So clinically it can be manifested as obvious pain in the upper abdomen, accompanied by reduced appetite, difficulty in eating, obvious wasting, vomiting, anemia and some other clinical symptoms. If the patient is not able to eat for a long time, it will lead to severe malnutrition and cachexia, which will eventually lead to multiple organ failure and cause death.

If it is determined to be advanced gastric cancer and the patient’s physical condition allows, even if surgery is not possible, it should be actively treated by applying a combination of therapies, such as chemotherapy, radiotherapy, or molecular targeted drug therapy. The main purpose is to prolong the patient’s survival and actively improve the patient’s quality of life. Patients who cannot eat can be treated with nasal feeding or stenting surgery, and in severe cases, parenteral nutrition can be adopted. Although it is impossible to cure this disease in advanced stages, the survival time of patients can be improved by comprehensive treatment.
