First aid for choking

Choking refers to the place where food gets stuck in the throat while eating, potentially blocking the airway and thus causing breathing difficulties. The most effective method of first aid for airway blockage is currently recognized as the Heimlich maneuver. If the patient is an adult and awake, you can stand behind the patient, make a fist with both hands, hold the thumb of one hand against the patient’s upper abdomen, and forcefully impact the upper abdomen inward and upward so that there is a pressure in the chest cavity, prompting the airway to expel the gas to the mouth, thus prompting the food to be spit out into the mouth. In addition, if the patient is unconscious or unable to stand or sit, he or she can be given a lie down and use both hands to shock the patient’s upper abdomen to achieve the above effect.
