Yunnan Baiyao powder should not be used externally after wound suppuration. After wound suppuration, pus should be actively removed to keep the wound clean and control the infection. The efficacy of Yunnan Baiyao is to dissolve blood stasis to stop bleeding, activate blood circulation to relieve pain (relieve pain by removing blood stasis), detoxify and reduce swelling. It can only be taken internally but not applied externally to wounds with suppuration. For suppurating wounds, debridement should be done first, actively drain the wound to remove the pus, keep the wound clean, and apply antibacterial drugs to control the infection if the wound is large and the symptoms of infection are more serious. Specific drugs need to be combined with the wound site and the type of pathogenic bacteria, commonly used cephalosporins and penicillin antibiotics (such as cefadroxil, amoxicillin, etc.). Wound suppuration should be treated promptly to avoid aggravation of the condition.
