Pure ground glass pulmonary nodules are a common type of pulmonary nodule and are a property of pulmonary nodules observed through CT imaging of the chest. It presents as a cloudy appearance with uniformly dense, ground glass-like changes in the lung. Under chest CT, the morphology and course of bronchi and blood vessels can be observed in pure ground glass nodules. The presence of pure ground glass nodules in the lungs suggests the possibility of lung infection, pulmonary nodular disease, pulmonary tuberculosis, and of course, the possibility of lung malignancy in a small number of patients. Pure ground glass nodules are only a manifestation of the imaging, and the specific pathological nature of the nodules is based on the patient’s accompanying clinical manifestations, as well as laboratory and pathological test results, to make a comprehensive analysis. Pure ground glass nodule-like changes in the lungs caused by lung infection are usually associated with coughing and coughing of varying degrees, and require active anti-infection treatment. If anti-infection is ineffective, be alert to the possibility of other relatively serious lung diseases, such as pulmonary tuberculosis that may be accompanied by afternoon low fever, night sweats, and blood in sputum, etc. Systematic application of anti-tuberculosis drugs is required, while ensuring adequate doses and courses of treatment. In the case of lung cancer, it may be accompanied by hemoptysis, wheezing, etc. In this case, early surgical treatment is recommended if conditions allow, and can be supplemented with radiotherapy and chemotherapy to improve the survival rate. Therefore, patients with pure ground glass lung nodules are recommended to undergo relevant examinations as early as possible to exclude the possibility of lung malignancy, and also to detect other pathological changes early and give reasonable treatment means as early as possible.
