Adapalene is mainly used for the treatment of mild to moderate acne vulgaris with acne and papules as the main manifestation. Common side effects in patients after medication cause dry skin, skin irritation, burning sensation and erythema. Infrequent side effects such as contact dermatitis, sunburn, itching, flaking and acne, as well as painful, swollen skin may occur. The eyes may also show irritation, causing erythema, itching, and swelling of the eyelids. This medication should be discontinued temporarily or permanently if a severe allergic reaction occurs during administration. If accidentally applied to mucous membranes, such as the eyes, mouth, nasal mucosa or open wounds, it must be washed off with warm water. Use of astringent cleansing products and products that can cause dryness or irritation of the skin, such as fragrances or products containing alcohol, should be avoided at the same time as using the medication.
