Common areas of skin abrasions are palms, elbows, knees, calves and feet. The epidermis of the skin will be broken and there is blood and tissue fluid oozing out of the wound. The wound is very small and only needs to be sterilized with iodine vapour to protect the wound, and there is no need to use ointment. If the abrasion wound is deeper and there is infection, you can apply some antibiotic drugs in the wound, such as erythromycin ointment. Skin abrasions should first be cleansed, rinsed with saline, if there is no saline you can also use tap water, well water to clean the sludge and dust on the wound. Then disinfect the wound with iodophor, dipped by a clean cotton swab and wiped from the inside to the outer edge, do not touch the wound directly, so as not to cause severe pain sensation. Cover the wound with sterile gauze after sterilization. If the abrasion wound is deep, it can be bandaged with sterile gauze, and the bandage should not be too tight. If the abrasion is not serious and the wound is shallow or small, you can expose the wound directly after applying medicine, which is more conducive to wound healing. Daily attention to abrasions do not get wet, keep the wound dry and clean, abrasions located in the joints should be appropriate rest, reduce joint activities.
