How long can you live if you have prostate cancer that has spread to stage IV?

Prostate cancer is a common malignancy that occurs in the elderly, and metastasis stage 4 is very common for prostate cancer, especially when bone metastases occur. The prostate gland itself is a relatively inert tumor, which means that prostate cancer develops more slowly. The majority of people with stage 4 prostate cancer have a survival time of more than 10 years. If bone metastasis occurs, it basically does not have much impact on life expectancy. Therefore, prostate cancer can still be treated aggressively even if it has metastasized and spread. The treatment is mainly local treatment for prostate cancer and systemic treatment for metastasis, such as endocrine therapy, targeted therapy or local radiotherapy.
