How to relieve tension headaches?

  Tension headache, also known as psychomuscular headache, is the most common type of headache. It is mainly caused by mental tension and persistent increase in muscle tension around the skull. Chronic anxiety, tension, depression or sleep disorders, and certain monotonous jobs that put the head, neck or scapular girdle in a poor posture for a long time can be factors in the development of the headache. Headache is non-pulsating, often bilateral or diffuse pressure pain in the whole head, with a feeling of tightness, pressure and heaviness. There are no positive signs on examination other than pressure pain in the pericranial muscles.  Tension headache is caused by persistent contraction of the muscles of the head and neck, which can be caused: (1) as a result of anxiety or depression accompanied by mental tension; (2) as a secondary symptom of other causes of headache or pain in other parts of the body; (3) as a result of poor posture of the head, neck, and scapular girdle.  How to relieve tension headache?  1.Escalate and comfort the patient to eliminate anxiety, tension or depression; 2.Participate in more physical exercise and recreational activities and watch more comedies; 3.Give amitriptyline tablets 25mg three times a day or 25mg~50mg every night, orally; 4.Or give Celete tablets 20mg once a day; 5.Or give alprazolam tablets 0.8mg once a night, orally.
