As a doctor who has worked in the plastic and cosmetic industry for many years, I have witnessed the growth of the domestic plastic surgery population as China’s reform and opening up and economic development continues to grow, but at present I see more and more plastic surgery patients with blind goals, some people are “following the crowd”, see what friends have done surgery to do it too. The most important thing is that you have to be able to get a good job, or to marry well, or to keep your husband’s heart. Whatever the reason for coming to plastic surgery all people are in pursuit of “beauty”, but what is “beauty” everyone has a different point of view. Some of the patients are envious of their friends’ appearance and want to change themselves, but after the surgery is done, they will be dissatisfied when they meet new friends they consider “beautiful” and lack self-confidence. Some other patients are fans of celebrities and want to make certain parts of their body look like celebrities, but most of the trends and idols have a short period of popularity, and they will constantly adjust their expectations of “beauty”, and these people also lack self-confidence. Not only do they lack self-confidence but they are also misguided. Lack of self-confidence can make the patient blind to the pursuit of beauty, lack of self-confidence can make the plastic surgeon wrong in his grasp of your requirements, lack of self-confidence can make you invest a lot of energy and money to end up with nothing. So what is the “beauty” that should be pursued in plastic surgery? I think the “beauty” first of all to have personality, everyone is the creation of nature, have their own unique beauty: high nose has the beauty of floating, low nose has the beauty of stability; big eyes have the beauty of stunning, small eyes have the beauty of softness; big face has the beauty of grooming, small face has the beauty of feminine fox. Now many women pursue the beauty of the movie star Fan Bingbing, I think it is to erase their own personality will eventually lose themselves. Secondly, “beauty” should have distinct gender differences: men and women are the two poles of yang and yin in nature, and gender beauty is something that every doctor should focus on. Nowadays, many women pursue the so-called “Korean nose job” which is wide and high, but in fact, it is a masculine feature, a wrong pursuit of Korean women who lack confidence in their female beauty because of their low social status, and not suitable for Chinese women’s social status and personality characteristics. The Chinese people’s interpretation of male beauty for thousands of years is “the sky is full and the earth is square”, and the same masculinity and atmosphere is also the right pursuit of male beauty today. So if one day plastic surgeons make men more feminine and women more masculine, I can’t imagine what society will be like, and maybe children will confuse their fathers with their mothers. The third “beauty” has a commonality: men require a straight nose and wide mouth, women require big eyes and cherry lips, this is the harmonious rhythm of nature, is like the golden ratio of the “gold standard”, different nationalities, different races are more or less the same, so each doctor to this commonality of beauty need to have a clear understanding. The last “beauty” is the difference of race and age: Westerners have a high and low abrupt beauty of the face, the Oriental face has a natural smooth beauty; young people have the beauty of the gallant, middle-aged and elderly have the beauty of dignity and harmony. The modern plastic surgery technology can let the patient pursue the beauty of mixed race, and also let the middle-aged and old people pursue the beauty of the young age, but after spending a considerable cost, the result is still close, because even if the plastic surgeon has the art of skillful work, it is still no match for the natural creation, and the art of rejuvenation is still The result is still close, because even if the plastic surgeon has the skill to rejuvenate, it is still not comparable to natural creation. Therefore, every plastic surgeon needs to gain a confident state of mind with the understanding of “beauty”. So how do you gain confidence? First of all, one should have a full understanding of one’s own appearance, what are the characteristics of oneself that are different from others, where one’s strengths are, and where one’s weaknesses are, so that one can be confident in one’s pursuit; secondly, one should understand one’s gender, age, and ethnic characteristics which need to be preserved and which can be improved; thirdly, one should compare the commonalities of “beauty” where one has This way, you can be fully psychologically prepared to choose a plastic surgeon with a “common language” for surgery; finally, of course, you should also spend some effort on the choice of surgical methods, the comparison of surgical costs, and the judgment of the surgeon’s experience, and make some considerations in the “gains and losses “In the end, you should also put some effort in choosing the surgical method, comparing the cost of surgery, and judging the experience of the surgeon. The above is a summary of my experience as a plastic surgeon for many years in terms of doctor-patient communication. I sincerely hope to become friends with each and every patient, and we will work together for a same and proper goal.
