Classification and staging of lung cancer and prognosis

There are two classifications of lung cancer. The first one is the classification in terms of growth location, which is divided into central lung cancer and peripheral lung cancer, central lung cancer is lung cancer above segmental bronchus, while peripheral lung cancer is lung cancer below segmental bronchus. Small cell lung cancer grows rapidly and there is easy recurrence and metastasis, but it is very sensitive to chemotherapy radiotherapy, and generally after 2-3 cycles of chemotherapy, the patient’s flesh lesions may completely fade away, and the general survival of patients receiving treatment will generally be greater than one and a half or two years. Lung adenocarcinoma has a good prognosis if it is early stage after surgery, if it is advanced stage, genetic testing can be performed, and if there is a suitable target you can take oral targeted drug therapy, chemotherapy and other treatments, the prognosis is also better. In case of squamous lung cancer, surgery is preferred in early stage of lung squamous cancer and the prognosis is very good, while chemotherapy can be chosen in middle and late stage, the prognosis is relatively worse than adenocarcinoma and large cell carcinoma.
