How to treat the initial stage of snakebite

Serpiginous sores is a common name for the medical term herpes zoster, which is caused by the varicella-zoster virus. Early treatment is based on antiviral medication, in addition to combined treatment with oral nerve-nourishing drugs, pain medication, and anti-inflammatory drugs: 1. Antiviral medication: It is the preferred treatment. When the rash is mild, it can be treated with topical acyclovir cream or furnace glycolic lotion for application. When the rash is severe, oral acyclovir, ganciclovir, valacyclovir and other antiviral drugs are required for treatment. These drugs have some nephrotoxicity and attention should be paid to monitoring kidney function during use; 2. Nerve-nourishing drug therapy: varicella-zoster virus infection can damage nerves, and nerve-nourishing drugs such as methylcobalamin tablets, adenosine cobalamin tablets, vitamin B1 and vitamin B12 need to be taken orally to repair nerve damage; 3. Pain-relieving drug therapy: Patients with serpiginous sores usually have pain during the rash, which can be dull pain, twitching pain or throbbing pain, etc. Clothing friction or contact will make the pain worse, and for old and frail patients, the pain is more obvious. When the pain is obvious, oral indomethacin, carbamazepine, pregabalin, diclofenac sodium, gabapentin and other painkillers can be taken to relieve the pain symptoms; 4. Anti-inflammatory drug treatment: Glucocorticoids, such as prednisone, can be used in the early stage for anti-inflammatory purposes, which can relieve the pain symptoms and also prevent the emergence of posterior neuralgia.
