Normal values for percentage of monocytes

The normal value for the percentage of monocytes is 3% to 8%. Mononucleosis is generally not clinically significant, and increases can be seen in physiologic and pathologic increases.

Mononucleosis can be seen mainly in hairy cell leukemia, while others are generally not clinically significant.

Physiologic increases are seen mainly in children and women in the middle and late stages of pregnancy.

Pathological increases can be seen in infectious diseases such as subacute bacterial endocarditis, active tuberculosis, black fever, malaria, hematologic diseases such as monocytic leukemia, lymphoma, chronic granulocytic leukemia, rheumatic diseases, and vascular endothelial hyperplasia.

If abnormally high monocytes are found in the examination, you should seek medical diagnosis and treatment in time.
