First of all, uterine artery embolization for uterine fibroids or adenomyosis is a surgical procedure that, like open surgery, is performed in the operating room and therefore requires hospitalization and observation. However, because the procedure causes very little damage to the patient, many patients do not consider it to be a surgery and therefore have the misconception that hospitalization is not required. The entire operation takes only about one hour, and the patient is often hospitalized for 3 days after the operation for observation, mainly to deal with postoperative pain and the possibility of infection. Therefore, the entire hospital stay is about 6-7 days.
