Minimally invasive treatment of giant liver cysts

Liver cysts are a very common condition and the vast majority of them do not require any treatment. For huge liver cysts with compression symptoms, minimally invasive laparoscopic hepatic cyst windowing can be considered: the operator can use ultrasonic knife to remove as much of the cyst wall as possible to fully open the cystic cavity, while iodine cauterizes the inner wall to destroy the secretory function of the cystic wall to prevent recurrence. It is easy to recur after surgery.
